Scott I fully agree that Corel's WP product are superior to Microslops.

But as you can tell by past sales the consumers don't give a hoot. It appears MS has this cult following or maybe it's just a powerful monopoly. I still don't understand how focusing on the suite will make sales any better.

People have been buying Microslop OS for years and it's just a piece of crap. The only way I can see that Corel will have a chance in the office apps is the NC. The consumers are slowly but surely starting to realize that MS OS is to complex and unstable for this day and age. I have known this for years but their never seemed to be a solution to this problem. Along comes Java and the NC.

I have stated this before but MS FUD is basically freezing the market to sell their present computing nightmare. In time the NC will take off and guess what MS will have products ready to sell. Since the last time I stated MHO about this MS has bought WebTV,partnering with Cable companies and satellite distribution.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that MS is going after data delivery. You may ask yourself why is MS interested in this. Well it just fits into the the future of NCs. They will have a end to end solution for the NCs and will make lots and lots of money. I appears to me that MS is setting itself up to monoploize the NC.

Now lets look at the present situation with Corel. They had a chance to be on the leading edge of the NC software but what did they do - Drop COJ and continue to make the NC's which is out of their expertise.
Now they are back into COJ and can't deliver the NC. To me it sure looks like Corel is spinning it wheels here. I also think sales are not good for WP to cause them to do this flip flop on COJ.
I also think if software sales are weak they better drop the NC hardware development and focus on the software.
I also think Cowpland can't wait to IPO CCC which will cloud his judgement on not to scrap the CCC.
The only positive I can see is that Corel gets bought out but I think the price will be rock bottom.
I don't know how this is all going to turn out in the end but we shall find out next year.

JMHO
Mike
