Not what I am saying at all.. I am saying lots of poor folks do not get the chance.. but that is not the worst.. How many times do you hear that we have he best and the brightest in politics.. money buys education and position for too many stupid people... and we all suffer for it... I am not saying send everyone to university... but if public schools are good (many private are actually chit also).. there is more competition by smarter folks..

some politicians, doctors and lawyers belong at the tollbooth where they cannot do damage .... and some tollbooth operators are wasted there..

Nothing sadder in life than wasted talent... nothing more dangerous than an idiot at the helm..

NOT misguided altruism.. simple pragmatism..
