A lot of famous and great people were so. I don't know if it is a requirement or not! I can't remember if it was Mark or his dad Kurt (Vonnegut) who wrote an account of Mark's problems. It was quite a while ago since I read it. Poe was also subject to the fits of melancholy and manicholy, but as with so many people with such problems there was a raging attraction to binge drinking which somewhat obscures the historical record. Indeed, Poe's death is as mysterious as were the wonderful stories he wrote.... Brave of you to divulge that, by the way. You're liable to get labeled as a "glib lib". Be careful! ;-)
