I have heard big game hunters describe an adrenaline rush, which is probably useful in carrying the carcass home, processing the animal, and enjoying the first cuts with friends and family, which can be long and arduous. Its not unusual to spend 20-24 hours from the time of kill before resting, even if everything remains relatively local.
