Greg: I have the whole kaboodle of bear funds: RYURX, BEARX, HRSMX, and spy short. BEARX is by far the best, and Tice has made a profit of 2-3% a month with the S&P flat (around 925)...so 25-30% a year is possible with the S&P flat. The problem with RYURX and SPY shorts is that one is shorting the 500 BEST stocks in a heavily-manipulated index where the downside potential is quite limited. BEARX gets to short the worst, stuff like DDIM goes in his portfolio, stocks that will go down 90% instead of down 20% like the S&P might in a bear. He has concentrated his portfolio in NASDAQ tech stocks.
