Peter - I am not knowledgeable enough to know whether their approach is right or wrong. They did not PR the latest patent filings, so we may not know what they are doing until well after the fact, which seems to be how they want it. Their IP lawyers also work for Dupont, so they should know what they are doing. The level of concern for IP protection expressed during the call indicates they are holding their cards close until the US and foreign patents are allowed. We'll see.
It was noted on the Yahoo board that the optical limiter, which they provided some detail about, was fabricated right after the non-provisional application for the NR material was filed, again indicating that they are not just relying on NDAs to protect themselves, unless this was just a coincidence.
The call revealed that there is a lot going on (new patent filings, new materials developed, fabrication efforts, working with Lockheed, DARPA delay, etc.), but not much detail is given. They don't seem interested in blowing their horn just to raise the stock price. Patience is a requirement to be a holder. |
