Not conservatives or even moderates. Liberals! Name one major accomplishement that was not first fought for by liberals. One, name just one! You will not be able to because there is nothing. And they all required huge fights. And always against conservatives and many moderates. Womens right to vote. The conservatives force fed the female protestors. It was brutal. Liberals stood with the women. Unions, blood in the streets and always backed by the liberals. Segregation, monster, monster fight, the blacks and liberals standing back to back. Gay rights, once again not one liberal voted against getting rid of DADT. Not one. While the entire Republican senate voted against it. All of them. Global warming, liberals fighting to control it 100%. And where are the conservatives, or even independents. All of these gains were acheived by blood in the streets fighting. None of them were resolved through compromise. And this group of right wingers takes us back to the Joe Macarthy era in its vicious. You going to compromise with Joe Macarthy? That is what you are asking we liberals to do. Let Joe Macarthy have his house of unamerican activities. Got to compormise! Even the John Birchers have gained new found respectability. Tell me where I am wrong!
