According to the IRS data, all high income people do that...... Then why do you care about the top marginal tax rate? and I will guess that you're paying no more than about 12-14% of AGI. Oh how glorious it would be if that was right. Small business people can do the same thing.... No, they generally aren't in a position to convert ordinary income to a lower taxed category. Rush wants to save an extra million in taxes on his 100 million dollar income... That conflicts with your first sentence. But even so, who cares? That million won't make much difference to the federal budget.
