Response to the post #2998

If Kazakstan is so bad for mining investment why all these major mining companies falling over each other in 1995 to grab 13.5 mil oz Vasilevskoe gold deposit ? In fact failure of Placer creates opportunity to the next company in this case Malaysia Mining.
Any company can walk away from the deal if it was structured properly. Companies often pay
agreed amount of cash as part of deal upon signing documents. Such cash proves they are
serious , gives them exclusivity, access to full documentation.

Post #2998 presents one side of the story. I gues we will never read
the other published in Kazakstan Dayly.

P.S. Placer can always invest in North America if they can find such deposits, or invest in
Indonesia where local government will grab half after you explore and identify it.
