We are all, of course, entitled to our own views of just about anything but we are not entitled to assert them as if they are fact.

In this case, both Protestant and Catholic theologies have very long histories of social justice movements which are not only not about personal beliefs but are about precisely what governments should do.

One need, for instance, in Protestantism, only look at David Brooks and Barack Obama's favorite theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr, to see a clear illustration. Or you could go back beyond Niebuhr to the social gospel movement of the previous several decades, early part of the previous century. Or within Catholicism to the various theological interpretations of justice for the poor.

If you then wish to argue those are not Christianity, you are, of course, in the deep thickets of theological interpretations.
