You just left out all context. the ancient Greeks were the first people on earth to experiment with the idea of rule by the people i.e. Republics.

The ancient Greeks were fumbling around with brand new ideas, just as our founding father's did when they wrote the consitution that allowed slavery and did not allow women to vote.


And Marx's ideas was a response to a horrible class war where the rich capitalists made life absolute hell for the peasants.

Both were first drafts. Gheeesh.
