'll take that bet, and wager that many of them are members of the AAAS. Many may indeed be members of the AAAS but that does not mean that the partisan affiliation of scientists in the US military, in the energy , pharmaceutical and finance industries would not look starkly different than that of AAAS. Given the advocacy positions of the AAAS it is evident that Rs would be less likely than Ds to support the organization with their membership $. If you can find a list of the political affiliations of the membership I'd love to see it.
