(Reuters) - President Barack Obama's bipartisan tax package passed a key test vote in the Senate on Monday, paving the way for final passage later in the week.

Voting continued on the bill and is expected to end later in the day. It will then move to the U.S. House of Representatives, where the measure faces more resistance, but is still expected to pass.
