The hell they aren't. You're telling me that Bejing has no control over what is imported or mined in China??

They have no control over building standards and the materials used?

Really now?.. Just WHO is making and enforcing those regulations?

And don't even start on the drug issue. Hong Kong was (and still is) notorious for it's Triads and drug trafficking from Burma to the US. Maybe they no longer route it through HK, but it's still coordinated from there.

And Bejing was a direct supporter of the Shan in the Golden Triangle, using them as pressure against the Burmese government.

And now the two of you are "buddy-buddy"..
