It is always interesting to hear what you are doing. Good luck with the preferreds. FPA has a fund that pays--or used to pay, I am not sure-- a big dividend, Source Cap., might be something to check out.

I am holding more cash than usual too, about 10%, lol. I would be tempted by Walmart if it went down to around $50, but mostly I have gotten lazy and have not been doing much in the way of looking. There is plenty of stuff that still looks decently valued, but some cash seems nice.

Are you still holding NE? Something else I did not get around to buying.

Good luck on MBIA too. That is a 100% bet on Bruce as far as I am concerned, and since I get a slightly uneasy feeling about it, it is probably a decent investment.
