I may not know a lot about existentialism, but I'm pretty sure you are mistaken in your apparent belief that existentialism rejects religion or religious values. You are also mistaken in your assertion that "existential freedom was not allowed by the church and society for all of mankinds [sic] history."

Consider, for example, Kierkegaard and his “leap of faith.” Besides being the "father of existentialism", Kierkegaard was, in fact, a theologian and a devout Christian. He may have had issues with the state church in Denmark, but he was also a positive influence on reforming it. His "leap of faith", his view that faith or God could not be reasoned or proven, and his belief in a personal relationship with God, is essentially the evangelical position, I believe.

Maybe you're talking about a different existentialism.
