When I read sites like Huffpo, I am reminded of teenagers who want want want, but don't understand what it takes to provide.
We want to stop using coal We want everyone to have a low cost safe and warm place to live We want free health care etc....
But what happens when you take coal out of the energy equation? Our current population has been inflated through entitlement programs that encourage people to have babies that they cannot afford or that encourage people to immigrate here while we struggle to support ourselves. Our energy demands go up with each person that is added to the population. Remove coal and our society is no longer sustainable. Literally millions of people would die. Even if global warming were real, there's nothing we can do about it. Solar and wind can't add enough to the energy pie to offset more than a small fraction of what coal provides.
Liberal greenies want to stop fracking for natural gas. So now they would have us have no electricity AND no natural gas. Hard to keep a home warm without any source of energy at all.
They want free health care. But if health care is free, how do we pay the doctors and nurses and support staff? Or do we expect them to volunteer their services because it is such an honor to change bedpans and look down phlegm filled throats? How do we expect our volunteer health services work force to pay for their rent and food? or...student loans?
Oh wait, free education too!!! so no student loans to worry about. But, if education is free, how do we pay the teachers? Or are they volunteers too?
Basically, liberal greenies are the emotional equivalents of needy teenagers who want a new car, but who don't want to go get a job to pay for it. |
