In this environment, its easy to forget that so many products are on allocation. I suspect the situation at Quantum would be similar. I can see why WDC might be seeing weaker demand. If you were an OEM buying for the Christmas season, would you have been counting on WDC's first MR products when you could buy QNTM's existing proven MR drives. If WDC thought it was better to blame industry conditions for their problems, I would have to say they sunk their own ship and did some serious damage to Wall Street's view of the entire industry.
