I am pointing out that there is no demarcation between the "normal", like speeding laws, and extremes, like death camps. Germany went from being a laboratory of pluralism in '32 to ohmygawd within ten years.
My ancestors came from that place at that time. Their story serves to remind me that the spectre of the extreme is everywhere all the time. This nation does not have any special immunity. The only defense in my opinion is to keep real power, political and economic, distributed.

I get these ideas as the cause and result of a deep distrust of any ideology or conveniently-packaged set of ideas.

<edit> I am not aware of any codified right to kill people.
