It's a tax loophole. That's what it is. (So how do you explain the fact that Canada has a HIGHER RATE of home ownership then the US does... despite not having the government subsidize mortgage debt through the tax code?) If you've got some actual facts to bring to the table now would be a nice time for 'em, tex... (no need to waste any further ink on vapid and pointless diversions like name-calling though. :-)
