Don't forget about hands and opposable thumb... coincided with big brain. :))

Opposable thumb and big brain might both be subsequent and the result of the species going bipedal.

An opposable thumb doesn't do much good when all four "feet" are on the ground. However it's very handy for bipedal creatures like us.

And walking is very hard work for the (subconscious) brain. It has to coordinate 1000's of sensory impulses from the feet with visual clues and balance and 100's of muscles and joints and bones for each and every step. A recent study showed that walking decreases brain shrinkage; I'm not kidding. "Why, walking seems so EASY?" That's cause the subconscious is doing all the heavy lifting.

Study Suggests Regular Walking May Prevent Shrinkage of the Brain
