<< Granted, Dell is a high-tech company, there are cables to connect, CD-ROMs to bolt in and, ah, did I mention cables to connect? Frankly, Donald Duck phones are only slightly less complex than what Dell does for a living.>> I've been saying that for months, and I said DELL is good short at Q3 and Q4. I had shorted DELL last Q from 125 all the way up to 175 before the split, recovered from time to time and came up -2k. The DELL bulls had a strong force so I decided to become one, I switched to buy it at 90+ after split and dumped it 101+. I sold DELL and CPQ at the top, but I still hold on to the dump COW. This Q I did not short DELL, my analysis told me that I could make more shorting the semi-equipments and semi stock like VTSS, VLSI, KLAC, JBIL, TER, AMAT.. I did quite well with it. I felt bad that I could not get out from INTC at top but in the other hand I trust this stock to make a come back and value much more than the box maker. INTC and MSFT, Wintel will make a quick come back, I think Win98 and future NT will have a lot of compelling apps, it is almost a shame if you don't own one when it comes out. Now these cool applications will drain a lot of CPU horse power, it will be very slow dog, if you don't own Pentium II. The band width of the internet will double up its speed in the mid 98, a lot of cool apps will make INTC and MSFT jets fly. In the mean time I am enjoying sending my bear army out and make money for me in the down turn. The most important decision to make today is should I loose the bears before Mr AG speak and ride the bull back up or I should keep my bears. It is very confusing decision and the greed always got me. |
