Tony, I'm very conservative (read despise losing money). For this reason, I only buy stock in companies I consider to be definite leaders in their field, say first or second, and should stay there. I also buy for medium-long term.
Microprocessors: Intel, INTC. Nobody else is even on the field.
Custom Logic (FPGA, ASIC, CPLD, etc.): LSI Logic, LSI. Altera, ALTR; Xilinx, XLNX are good, too, but are sky high. Actually, LSI has made a good run the last month, too. I missed the boat on LSI myself! Some analyst was saying things like $100 stock in a year or 2.
SRAM: I think we decided out of favor, but CY and IDTI are the best companies, IMO.
DRAM: Micron T., MU is the most publicized now, but they're very specialized. I would buy Texas Instruments, TXN, because they are very diversified. Their other products are very high quality, also.
Misc.: Motorola, MOT. Very much like TXN. Good products, management. flip a coin.
Standard disclaimer: you're on your own, don't come looking for me, etc.
Cheers, V
p.s. Sorry to have no real low priced ones (maybe the low priced ones are such for a reason?). |
