Robert Hirsch - The Impending Decline of World Oil Production & What It Might Mean Spent lunchtime at a Peak Oil lecture by Robert Hirsch. Hirsch is no lightweight. Is buddies with Colin Campbell, etc. I wasn't counting, but I feel confident he used the word, "starvation" about ten times, and "panic" five or six. Slides on Page 11 and Page 23 tell most of the story. We are in production plateau for another 2-5 years, and then the SHTF. ncac-usaee.org Says we are basically unprepared. Very discretely and respectfully suggests that the CERA (peak oil naysayers) folks are less than objective for, well...to make the sponsors happy. Says that Exxon is a peak oil believer, but they keep a very low, unconcerned profile. Don't want to be the bearer of such bad news. Hirsch has new book: "The Impending World Energy Mess" amazon.com PS: I have been away un plus longtemps. Great to see a lot of the regulars here...Commander, BearCat, Dale, Dennis, etc. I find I get a lot more work done staying away from the boards. Doesn't mean that the content is any less valuable.
