The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, November 12, edition that
Western Copper moved up $2.27 to $3.25 on the TSE yesterday. The Globe's
Market movers column reports that Western Copper president Dale Corman and
exploration geologists with joint venture partner Teck will be on the exploration
site of the 224 sq km El Salvador project in central Mexico today. It's been more
than eight months since Western Copper found 13.2 metres of copper, zinc, lead,
gold and silver near the city of Zacatecas. but this week's excitement is a report
that drilling has resulted in the discovery of more than 163 metres of massive and
semi-massive sulphide rock beginning at a depth of about 205 metres. Assays are
expected in a week or so. Teck has a 55 per cent stake in the project, and
Western Copper has a 45 per cent interest. A Mexican company has an option on
a 25 per cent interest in the claims where the discovery was made.
