<if we are in depression why are stocks booming and bonuses handed out in the billions?> Banksters have apparently unlimited access to Fed Funds on which they can earn a riskless spread by plowing the unlimited funds back into treasuries. Combined with the daily use of this excess cash to run the hft machine and prop the stock market to engineered price levels. Great times for banksters and CEO's. Party all around with ill gotten gains and bailouts and the gurantees that still stand behind the bailouts. Depression times for workers and unemployed and underemployed. Nobody bailed them out or offered them risk free investment capital, so they have no stocks to be booming and no bonuses to revel in. WTF? Man? WTF?
