MORE..PR........Premier Laser's Er:YAG Cited By ADA as "Hot" Development at National Dental Conference; Northeast Training Courses Quickly Filled at Conference
IRVINE, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Nov. 12, 1997--Premier Laser Systems (NASDAQ/NMS:PLSIA) Wednesday reported that its Centauri Er:YAG system earned American Dental Association recognition as a "hot" topic -- one of the developments generating the most calls to Association headquarters -- at last month's 1997 ADA Conference in Washington, D.C.
Earlier this year, the Centauri was cleared to market for adult hard dental tissue procedures by the FDA. Premier Laser also reported that the volume of applications from Conference attendees for the company's upcoming Northeast Er:YAG training sessions were sufficient to fill all available slots.
According to Premier Laser Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Colette Cozean, Ph.D., the number of practitioners visiting the company's exhibit "exceeded anything experienced in response to a new product in past years. We actually had dentists waiting in line to 'test drive' Centauri, using extracted teeth."
Cozean said that more than 150 dentists paid a fee to use Centauri as part of the ADA Conference High Technology symposium. Other company lasers demonstrated at the convention included the Aurora diode and MOD argon-based systems used in teeth whitening and composite restoration curing.
Premier Laser Systems develops, manufactures and markets several lines of proprietary medical and dental lasers, fiber optic delivery systems and associated products for a variety of dental, ophthalmic and surgical applications.
