I was selling silver coins in 1979 and 1980 for 100 % over face value. Nickles dimes and quarters. There were want ads in the news paper just like TV ads today for old gold items. My wife ran a corner grocery store so she took in lots of coins. We made more from the silver coins then from selling groceries. It was very easy to spot the silver ones. They were much heavier and dull in color.
