It is easier for me to believe that man's amazing affinity for religion is a consequence of our meat (without need of some external pointoof reference or gravitation) than it is for me to believe that any religion has a lock on usable truth.

That said, what distinguishes my personal doubts from religion is that my belief as stated is provisional and persuasible. Give me reason to change my mind, and I am likely to do so.
