If I understand this sentence right, I agree. Cross-disciplinary contribution happens. Wegener was a meteorologist but had useful insights into geology.

That said, I don't think that is the case here. Yockey's argument (ten to the twenty-third years to evolve a protein?) is simplistic. It would imo be a disingenuous interpretation of the word "code" in the genetic context to proclaim that the code must have had a writer. Despite his protestations, Yockey's single claim to fame is his idea's adoption (with his name misspelled; a point mutation that makes for easy tracking of this memelet) by the creationist blog communities.
