Hi Andy,

I'm just starting to understand the UNIX/NT battle. From what I understand NT is cheaper as an up-front stand alone server. It's when you really start to stress NT that it get weak compared to AIX. I've read that IBM plans to rework AIX so it can take the stress of clustered servers and run on SMP machines with greater than 4 processors. I think that since IBM has ISSC as it's own system integrator that it will be be able to give better support than MS can. ISSC doesn't care who's equipment they use as long as the solution works, by the way. If Wintel is the best solution they'll use it.
Quite frankly, it seems there is plenty of room for everyone to have a piece of the IS pie if you disregard the fanatics who think everything will be Intel/NT. That's not just not realistic.

It seems to me that NCDI, panned recently, looks interesting as a place for danger money. With IBM buying it's NC from them and the resulting publicity maybe they'll get a boost. Check out their web page ncdi.com for more info.
