GT Interactive has announced that in the summer of 1998 it will release its own real-time strategy game based on H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. Plans for the game include a full 3D engine, 16-bit color at multiple resolutions, non-linear gameplay, timekeeping for day or night battles, and two-player network play.
