>>>'Stunning loss' of Canadian market share in U.S.: report<<<

You have to figure that a big part of that is due to the strengthening Loonie which in turn is due to the pervasive, global, crude oil price rise.

The really smart Canadian manufacturers might have taken massive FX positions. Of course it is hard to sustain that for a decade, and you shift from being a manufacturer to becoming a trading shop. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Its just that somebody, somewhere has to create wealth, and the argument about justifying one's p,lace on the surface of the planet through offering liquidity and narrowing spreads can get.....well...spread pretty thin.

My solution to solving the banking crisis would be to morph Citi, JP Morgan, Goldman, etc into sweatshop manufacturing concerns in the garment district of New York.
