Scott's company ,HCA, when he was its president, bilked the Federal Govt. out of at least $1,700,000,000.00, which was the fine it paid back to the govt. for all types of Medicare abuses including overbilling, phantom billing, phony upgrading of people's conditions to get more money, etc. (By the way this was the biggest fine ever collected by the Feds .)
Scott then retired from HCA and collected more than $300,000,000.00. He has significant ownership in another company which has been accused of shady dealings. He got elected governor by spending more than $73,000,000.00 of his own money, much for deceptive advertising; by the tide of the media which accused the dems for the down economy, even though the damage was done when Bush was president, by linking with the Tea party and in part because he was a good compaigner. Whatever he does as governor will have a minor effect on employment in the state. |
