I look for the opposite of my value long criteria. Currently I am short CDRD, ZITL, RMDY and NSPK. Also trying to short ONSL today.

The bottom line is, can the company produce earnings which will justify its current market cap? ZITL never will. CDRD most likely never will and NSPK is unproven (I was long NSPK from 14 to 24, BTW).

I shorted RMDY based on a 3-month MACD chart analysis from BigCharts. When the MACD lines cross high above the median line, the company is likely to fall back. I would cover RMDY around 40 if I can. ZITL I won't cover until single digits and NSPK in the high teens. CDRD I would like to see in the low teens.

I have followed the Roger's Short Picks thread for several months to learn about shorting from people who do it a lot. You should bookmark and follow it before you try any shorting. Do some "paper" trading and see how you do first. Positions can move against you fast in a heavily shorted momentum stock like YHOO.

As long as this market is grim, I will continue to short more as I close out long positions and add to my margin flexibility.

Good luck.
