Greetings Frank - Here is some news this thread may have missed: Tuesday November 11, 9:03 pm Eastern Time Ashton Canada unit encouraged by samples MELBOURNE, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Diamond miner and explorer Ashton Mining Ltd said on Wednesday its Canadian subsidiary Aston Mining of Canada Inc (Toronto:ACA.TO - news) released more encouraging results from its diamond find in Canada's northern Alberta on Tuesday. Ashton Canada said analysis of mini-bulk samples from the diamond-bearing kimberlite formation, K14, yielded diamonds and diamond fragments weighing 4.86 carats. Five stones recovered weighed more than 0.18 carats, the largest weighing 0.6 carats. ''The results are an encouraging indication that kimberlite K14 contains a population of diamonds of commercial size,'' Aston Canada said. Ashton Mining owns 62 percent of Ashton Canada which jumped 11 percent to C$5.90 in trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Tuesday. At 1.05 p.m (0205 GMT), Ashton shares were two cents weaker at A$1.33.
