Supporting functions demand work. And people have jobs. Jobs is how people call their professions in a service economy There are two type of jobs: Real jobs Pseudo jobs. Service economy provide supporting functions. Activities that without which products would not be made available. People who have real jobs perform work that serves for supporting some economic activity. Insurance, shipping, mobile services, ground crews at an airport. Cops making sure citizens are protected Doctors in hospitals. Testing laboratories. All public utilities dispensing electricity, water and sewage Pseudo jobs are an scheme whereby people get a salary, money that is taken from a producing sector of the economy. In all countries –barred the United States- money is extracted from producing sector via a scheme call taxation. US just print the damn thing. What is the test for to see if a job is real or if is a scheme to earn a salary? If that guy does not show up for a month does anyone misses his output? A kindergarten teacher holds a real job. If she doesn’t show up little kids and parents lives will be in disarray. A marine biologist in an environment agency working with sea turtles has a pseudo job. Why? If he stays at home for 3 months, no one misses his output People who oversees environment regulations, hold pseudo jobs. People who looks to shoes in airports, have pseudo jobs. For if people passes directly without taking shoes off, nothing will happen. An Indian responding for a call at call center holds a real job, he has a supporting function. If cal is not answered someone ho is in trouble cannot be helped.
