Sam, with what's been happenning lately, you have to wonder if Quantum management can continue to bury their head in the sand and hope beyond hope that disk drive companies will someday trade at high multiples. I'd say the current problems have killed those prospects for at least another 3 years and further competition means there is no end in sight . Eventually the auto companies realized that all their businesses traded at auto industry multiples and spun off or issued shares in the higher multiple businesses.
Given that nothing going on now has impacted DLT, the damage done to Quantum's disk drive valuation is truly unbelievable. The business is now worth a negative $23 per share on Quantums market cap and is indisputably currently the world's most successful disk drive operation. Imagine if it were the worst.
