Glenn, I have posted below the rest of the revisions from yesterday's Zacks overnight. Now I would like to hear from people who have followed the DD sector for a long time about the history of analyst's estimates. Have they historically overcompensated to the downside following warnings? I was sucked into holding half my shares all the way up and all the way back down from a purchase in late May, with more purchases on the way back down, because I believed the analyst's estimates for 1998 and 1999. I also believed the "experts" who said that the days of price wars were over and that we didn't have to worry about the Asian DD manufacturers because they didn't sell into US markets. If this were true, then the projected continued strong growth for Compaq and Dell among others should have pulled WDC along for the ride. Now I don't know what to believe. From the data on WSRN.COM it looks like we are at the historic low P/E for 1992 to present but not yet to the low P/S. Someone posted on this thread in the last day or two that it would take 4 quarters to turn around. Have the DD makers ever turned around from a bad quarter in less than one year?
