Bob,

General Motors and Chrysler were overdue for a restructuring. Whether or not Chrysler can survive long-term is problematic, but General Motors has been given a new lease on life. I would have preferred a more draconian restructuring and a bit more parity for the bond holders, but overall it went well. We can only hope that GM does not blow the opportunity.
