RP,

I've stayed away from comment on the Tea Party for a number of reasons. The biggest one being that I really don't know how to measure them yet. There are no actions to be recorded and only words.

So, in time I will form an opinion. Right now I'm agnostic.

I do have a bet with a Tea Party buddy that half of those that are coming to power next month will be corrupted within a year. Just another point where I hope I'm proven completely wrong.

We need the crisis. I hate to say that, but that what it is going to take to clean the scum from our system.

I know it is a cop-out, as it has to start somewhere, but just not with me. I just don't have it in me to fight this battle for change. But, once it reaches critical mass and there is committed power in numbers, I'll join. I'm going to be a follower on this one.

And the reason is that I don't think we can change the system. We can only let it implode and then build something better. That is pretty ugly stuff, but I think that is what will happen.

I know I don't have the solution or even a good first step.
