Record Amounts of Global Warming Bring World to Standstill

A couple of reports reveal the amount of “global warming” the world is experiencing at the moment. As you almost certainly won’t hear about these particular weather events on the nightly news, I’m commenting on them here.
Japan Today reports that a thousand or more cars were stuck for hours by the heaviest snow ever recorded:
As many as 1,000 vehicles became stuck in traffic over a distance of about 20 kilometers on a national road in Tottori Prefecture from New Year’s Eve due to heavy snow and an accident, local officials said Saturday.
According to a local meteorological observatory, 89 centimeters of snow had accumulated in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, as of 5 a.m. Saturday, the highest level since observations started in 1940

Meanwhile, the BBC reports that numerous ships and hundreds of crew are stuck fast in the Sea of Okhotsk off the coast of North East Russia, where the sea has turned to ice so thick you can drive a lorry on it:

Rescue efforts are under way to evacuate more than 600 crew on 10 ships trapped in ice in the Sea of Okhotsk. The ice is up to 30cm (12 inches) thick in some places, according to the Russian news agency Itar-Tass.
The temperature in the area is -22C, according to Itar-Tass, and forecasts suggest it will fall even lower.

When they said that the evidence for global warming was piling up, we didn’t realize that this was what they meant. Sure is warm out there!
