In what Muslim countries have you lived?

Do those countries practice stoning for crimes like adultery?

Are there editorials run in the newspapers in such countries protesting such practices? In fact, do such newspapers even criticize any aspect of Islamic practice? Or are they afraid to do so because of the threats of violence articulated in other countries in order to intimidate the press?

Can you link us to any authoritative treatises or texts that suggest the Koran is not serious about stoning for crimes like adultery, killing gays, or the practice of honor killing?

Anecdotal evidence of the type you persistently advocate is essentially worthless given the continual examples of barbaric practices not only advocated by practitioners of Islam, but actually performed. I am sure you can find some Muslims who do not practice the strict rules imposed by the Koran. However, that does not establish that significant numbers do not approve and/or practice such things as honor killings and stoning. It means nothing more than every rule has exceptions.

If the more barbaric practices of Islam were not accepted by the majority of Muslims you would not have stoning and lashings performed routinely by the governments of Islamic states. From these practices, it is not a great leap to understand why honor killings consistently occur, particularly since the religion is used as a defense to an honor killing in Islamic countries.

If you wish to defend Islam, you need to provide more than your bald opinions. We all saw Muslims dancing in the streets after 9/11. How much more evidence do you need to substantiate the fact that there is a wide swath of Muslims who are dangerous?
