Intel Missing Mobile Computing Wave -Piper Jaffray

Last update: 1/3/2011 8:16:34 AM
8:16 (Dow Jones) Investors focused on growth won't find it from Intel (INTC), Piper Jaffray says in cutting INTC to neutral from overweight. Firm notes growth is coming from "ultramobile devices," but INTC is missing that wave and isn't likely to gain traction in 2011. Expects PC unit growth to decline to 5% from 12% in next several years as tablets gain momentum, though PC prices should stabilize. Adds PC and INTC's revenue should grow in mid-single digits unless INTC can move beyond PC market. INTC's margins likely peaked in calendar 2010 and two near-term dilutive acquisitions should create headwinds for stock, Piper Jaffray notes. INTC up a fraction to $21.08 premarket.
