ElM, you probably haven't heard of BP since it's an Anglo company. You probably don't know about Mobil's Syngas. Or tallow esters for trucks. You have probably heard of cng and lpg. But not much about methanol though it rhymes with ethanol. I believe you have heard of ethanol.

You probably believe that stuff about big oil companies buying technology for running cars on water and then hiding it so they can go on selling oil. It's true! I personally took a converted Honda Accord into a service station and the service station attendant put water from a watering can into the fuel tank. He was very diffident but I assured him it needed water, not petrol. I had called in to get a litre of petrol for the starter preheat system tank in the engine compartment [just a 1 litre tank]. I'm sworn to secrecy about it so can't say much. He was raving to the other attendant "IT'S TRUE, I PUT THE WATER IN THE TANK MYSELF". So the cat was out of the bag there and no doubt he tells people there are cars that run on water and the oil companies hide the technology.

Alternative fuels are no biggie ElM. Even Brazil has managed to make fuel out of plants they found growing on the side of the road.
