2010 Toaster International Results
The winners of the 2010 Toaster are announced below: This year's contest was the most competitive indicating that a lot of folks had a pretty good handle on Q's stock price for 2010. The winner of the high low contest was data_rox closely, very closely, followed by golfinvestor. The actual high low numbers for the year (using only closing figures, not intra-day), were 49.99 and 31.96. Data_rox's submitted numbers were 50 and 33. Golfinvestor's numbers were 49.80 and 33.01. If you do the math or look at the excel spreadsheet results that I hope to post, you will see that golfinvestor was second by a penny, .01, amazing.
If you think that was close, TennisBum was spot on in the year end contest. His submitted number was in fact the actual closing number for the year, 49.49. Neeka305's number was 49.44, finishing five cents behind TennisBum.
But this understates the quality of the submissions in their totality, suggesting that only a couple of folks hit near the bullseye. As you will see when I figure out how to post the spreadsheet, there were any number of folks in the contest who submitted numbers very, very close to the winning numbers. While some quite correctly can state that winning the contest is pure luck, there are certain posters who lurk around the winning numbers year after year and I humbly suggest that their posts should be read with great care.
As always, I will entertain any challenges from folks for seven days following my posting of the excel spreadsheet after which time these results, assuming no successful challenge is filed, become final.
