I agree, a PC can do everything that an NC can do ... and more. But most of the population will not need anything more than an NC, and do not want anything more than another appliance that enables them to do all the basic banking, gaming, and socializing without the headaches that local storage, backup, upgrades, etc. that a PC requires.

There is at least one point that you can not deny ... an NC will always be less expensive than a PC.

IBM is moving in the right direction with INTRANET NC's. This will be the beginning of the movement. NC's and the infrastructure can not currently handle the INTERNET, but put them on a 100MB corporate network and they will fly.
