In spite of that, he was a great methodical mind when it came to experimentation. I was probably only about ten when I read his "Optiks". He didn't assume anything but built his experiments up like a pyramid...

Even then, Isaac was able to keep his religious beliefs under wraps. In today's world, he would have kept it pretty quiet.

But I don't think in today's world he would give such superstitions too much shrift. At the time, alchemy was something that attracted curious and nimble minds. Boyle was also an alchemist.
