According to Exxon's own published figures, total liquids production (this includes oil, condensate, NGLs, bitumen and synthetic oil) have been the following starting in 2006:

2006: 2,681 thousands of barrels per day
2007: 2,616
2008: 2,405
2009: 2,387

If just crude oil, condensate and NGLs are counted, the production figures starting in 2007 are:

2007: 2,421
2008: 2,219
2009: 2,202

[The 2006 crude oil, condensate and NGLs figure is not broken out in the annual report I looked at]

Clearly there is a trend. Despite rising oil prices, Exxon's oil production is falling. Have we seen this before?
