I'm thinking just the opposite, that my timing pursuing XOM stock is the best game in town given the eventualities that you allude to. However I think there will be mitigating factors over the next 50 years that extend the second half of the peak oil view. I don't have 50 years left. I'll be lucky to see the next 25 years. After that someone else will have to deal with the future, perhaps you ? When I wake up in the morning, and I am self aware, thats a good day. Anything beyond that is pure gravy for me. I have been voluntarily unemployed (retired) since 2004. I don't miss it. After I am gone, the world will carry on in some fashion. Nature will survive and morph. Humans will need to also.
